Kyle Busch Nips Stewart At the Line

Budweiser shootout and avoided three near disasters to pick up his first career win in the Budweiser Shootout.  Busch came from ninth place on the green, white, checker finish to push Tony Stewart to the lead with 2 to go and Busch moved to the outside of Stewart coming out of turn four to nip Tony at the line by 0.013 of a second.  The win was also the first victory for Toyota in the Budweiser Shootout.

It didn’t take long to have the first big crash of the 2012 season.  The first melee occurred on lap four when David Ragan and Paul Meneard got into one another and Michael Waltrip, Kasey Kahne, Denny Hamlin, Jeff Burton, Matt Kenseth and Juan Montoya were all caught up in the wreck.  Menard, Ragan and Waltrip had to retire for the night.

On lap 56 Marcos Ambrose turned Joey Logano and the wreck collected Ambrose, Kevin Harvick, Matt Kenseth, Dale Earnhardt Jr.,  and Martin Truex, Jr.  The only driver that was able to continue was Ambrose.

The third and final crash happened when Jeff Gordon got into the left rear of Kyle Busch and turned him, who was able to save it, but Gordon drifted up into the path of Kurt Busch with Jamie McMurray and Jimmie Johnson slamming into Gordon who ended up on his top after barrel rolling.down the track.
