GARDNER, Kan -- FOX 4 told you last night about a single mom who placed an ad on Craig's List.  It said, "Everything Must Go."

Melissa Schult was trying to sell almost all of her furniture to pay for a car after hers broke down.  Schult's concern, getting her daughter to doctor's appointments at Children's Mercy Hospital.  She called the ad a last ditch effort to buy a car after her car stopped working.

We often say you're the best viewers in the world, and the response to Schult's story is proof.  She had so many people to thank, but one particular person.

"I most definitely want to thank the person that sent you my Craig's List ad," Schult said.  "I didn't ask for that.  I think that was really great."

Janice Riggs is the Fox Four viewer who was looking at used furniture on Craig's List when she saw Melissa's ad.  Janice helps the homeless through a ministry called, Women In God's Service.

She says it puts homeless people in apartments that need to be furnished.  Because of Janice, Melissa didn't have to sell anything, and took her ad off Craig's List last night.

A family from Baldwin, Kansas gave the single mom and her girls a van.  Other people who saw the story offered money and mechanics offered help.

"It makes me realize how many good people are still in the world because I was so down and thought this is it," she said. "I didn't know what else I was going to do and so many people have come together to help me.  I just really appreciate it."

Thanks to the generosity, Schult says she can get Lauren to her doctor's appointments and herself to work. She is working out the details to respond to everyone else who offered assistance.
