Southbound I-35 Closed by Semi Fire

KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- A tractor-trailer fire caused traffic to back up on southbound I-35 in Kansas City, Kansas, on Wednesday afternoon.

According to authorities, the southbound lanes of I-35 have been closed between Cambridge Circle and Mission Road - Southwest Boulevard because of the fire.

The interstate was expected to reopen later Wednesday afternoon, authorities said.

There haven't been any reports of injuries in the accident. The cause of the fire has not been released.
