KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- If you feel like you're paying more at the pumps and in the grocery store, you're not alone. Gas prices in the metro are inching towards $4 a gallon, and milk lovers are already feeling the $4 pinch.

The prices may be similar, but how they got there is a different story.
