Kansas Rocks Texas A&M 83-66
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas Jayhawks advanced to the Big 12 semifinals with an 83-66 win over the Texas A&M Aggies on Thursday at the Sprint Center.
The Aggies (14-18, 4-14 Big 12) led 21-17 with 8:54 to go in the 1st half, but the Jayhawks went on a 13-0 run to take a 30-21 lead at the 4:25 mark. Kansas (27-5, 16-2 Big 12) led 40-28 at halftime, and maintained a 15-20 point cushion for most of the 2nd half.
The Jayhawks hit 10 of 15 attempts from beyond the arc, and shot 61.4% overall from the field. Junior guard Elijah Johnson led KU with 26 points. National Player of the Year candidate, junior forward Thomas Robinson, added a double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds.
Forward Khris Middleton led the Aggies with 24 points.
No. 3 Kansas will face No. 12 Baylor tomorrow in the Big 12 semifinals.
