KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- Authorities from across the metro and agents from the FBI are at Livestrong Sporting Park in Kansas City, Kansas, on Monday to get some special emergency response training.

According to the FBI, the field training exercise (FTX) is designed to realistically train and focus on the region`s emergency response capabilities and multi-agency coordinated action should an actual event impacting the metro area should occur.

The FTX, involving a hazardous, "radiological" material, is designed to provide a hands-on opportunity for the participants to familiarize themselves with the roles, response capabilities and available assets for our region. Additionally, the exercise will provide LIVESTRONG Sporting Park personnel the ability to practice their emergency preparedness and evacuation plans working jointly with area emergency service organizations.

The exercise is expected to wrap up shortly after noon on Monday.
