KANSAS CITY, Mo. — How much would you pay for a picture with your favorite celebrity or politician?

Apparently, if you plan on taking a picture with Newt Gingrich at any of his campaign events, you’ll be required to pay $50. It’s an effort to raise funds for his campaign, which is reportedly $1.6 million in debt.

According to the National Journal, a Gingrich spokesperson addressed the fundraising strategy in an email, saying, “Some campaigns make you travel all the way to Wall Street to pay $2,500 for a photo with a candidate. We are trying a new tactic and asking our supporters at our rallies for a nominal donation. And guess what, it’s working.”

Gingrich previously posed for free with people who wanted their picture taken with him at his campaign events.
