Man Surrenders to Police After Standoff

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A 45-year-old man is being taken to the hospital for a mental evaluation after a standoff with police. It happened on Tuesday night near Scaritt & Wheeling in Kansas City, Mo.

Police were called to the house after a report of a man standing on a porch with a shotgun saying he was going to shoot people. When officers arrived, the man went inside the home.

He stayed inside for just over an hour before surrendering to police.
