Sporting KC Looks Ahead to Portland Timbers

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Sporting Kansas City continues its two-game road tour of the Northwest on Saturday to take on the Portland Timbers at JELD-WEN Field in Portland, Oregon.

The Timbers (1-4-1, 1-2-0 home) are the bottom feeders of the Western Conference so far, but they are undefeated at home. Portland has scored eight goals this year, and allowed 11. They are in last place and have accumulated a total of four points.

Sporting KC (7-0, 3-0 away) has taken Major League Soccer by storm this season. So far, they’ve scored 12 goals and allowed only two. Sporting KC leads the league in total points with 21. They own the best record in MLS, and first place in the Eastern Conference.

Sporting KC is coming off a 3-1 road victory over Vancouver Whitecaps FC (2-2-2) on Wednesday.
