KCMO Firefighters Battle Apartment Fire

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Firefighters battled an a building fire on the city's Northeast Side on Friday afternoon.

The blaze at the two-story apartment building in the 3400 block of E. 9th Street broke out around 4:00 p.m. Two people were injured in the fire, but there is no word on their condition.

The American Red Cross is helping the 22 people - including three children - displaced by the fire find food, medication and a safe place to spend the night.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
