LENEXA, Kan. -- It's called Seamless Dance Theatre, which is a professional dance company that performs once a year in Kansas City. This year's show is called "Rise."
But it will actually raise money so another group of dancers can take the stage. That group is comprised of dancers with special needs. The money raised will pay for weekly dance classes, recital and competition fees, as well as costumes and dance shoes.
The group performed at a dance competition in Overland Park over the weekend and received a standing ovation from the audience. The professional dancers say they want everyone, regardless of ability, to shine.
You can see "Rise" on May 5th at the Gem Theatre at 18th and Vine. Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for kids 10 and under. For more information you can visit the group's website at www.seamlessdance.com.
