OVERLAND PARK, Kan. --A Kansas City woman and a man from Africa are teaming up in an effort to build a performing arts center in the congo. Their effort is called KC2Congo.
Kelly Myers is a song writer who lives in Kansas City. After meeting Jose Hendrix, who's a musician in Africa, the two decided to collaborate. Hendrix has recorded an entire CD of songs that will be for sale at a benefit concert next month.
You can attend KC2Congo on May 24th at Californos in Westport from 8 p.m. to midnight. The cost is $10 at the door. All musicians are also invited to take part in a jam session during the event.
