Which side of your face is better looking? Apparently, it’s your left — according to a new study from Wake Forest University.
Wake Forest University psychology professor Dr. James Schirillo and his co-author Kelsey Blackburn, asked 37 students to rate photos of 10 male and 10 females faces. Here’s the catch. The photos were presented in mirror image form, so the right cheeks appeared to be left cheeks and vice versa.
Students found the left sides of faces to be more “pleasant” than the right sides. Research has shown the left side presents more intense emotions than the right and is more active during emotional expression.
