CHICAGO -- The five-year-old boy at the center of an Amber Alert earlier this week is expected to return to Missouri with his mother on Thursday.
WGN's Nancy Loo reports the five-year-old Porter Stone and his mother, Tiffany, are currently in Chicago and that Porter, on a waiting list to receive a heart transplant, is in good condition.
Police said the boy's father, Jeffrey Stone, took Porter after he was discharged from St. Louis Children's Hospital on Tuesday.
After the Amber Alert was issued, the boy, along with his father, paternal grandmother and an aunt were located at a hotel is suburban Chicago. Jeffrey Stone and the boy's grandmother have been charged with kidnapping, interference with custody, and endangering the welfare of a child.
