DNA Match Leads to Cold Case Murder Charges

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A Kansas City man is behind bars for a 1992 murder. Juan Marin, 55, faces first degree murder charges in the murder of Tiffany Bloomquist.

Court records show Bloomquist was found strangled to death in her apartment  in the 900 block of East Armour. A witness told police that hew saw two men in the bedroom with Bloomquist.

DNA taken from the scene matched Juan Marin. Additional DNA testing Marin to a stain from a blanket in the bedroom, a bed sheet and the pantyhose wrapped around the victim’s neck.
