KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City Royals might have gotten off to a stumbling start to the season – but for some thirsty fans, Royals right fielder Jeff Francoeur may be the American League MVP.

On Thursday night, Francoeur tossed fans in the right field stands a $100 bill with a note that read “Buy some beer on me.”

That section of right field seats has become known as “Frenchy Quarter” in honor of Francoeur, as the team has designated eight games this season as Frenchy Quarter events – complete with a ticket discount, a Frenchy Quarter t-shirt and Mardi Gras-style beads.

Earlier this season, Francoeur had 20 pizzas delivered to fans in the right fields seats in Oakland.
