Storms Now & Later

Not shocked but a bit surprised as an outflow boundary has moved into the metro this AM…the boundary was expected, it was huffing and puffing getting here and the rain had fallen apart, but all of a sudden when it got tot he I-35 corridor it exploded into a nice area of storms. They should not be severe this AM, but will produce locally heavy rainfall for an hour or so. Skies should actually brighten a bit later this AM and this afternoon before new development occurs later today and tonight in the area, with another threat of heavy rainfall.

While the activity out there now isn’t surprising…the intensity is at this early hour of the day, at least to me it is and it shows how much instability is there in the atmosphere waiting to be tapped.

Full writeup coming early this afternoon.
