Liberty Man Faces Child Porn Charges

LIBERTY, Mo. — A Liberty man faces child pornography charges after authorities received a tip from internet giant Yahoo! Inc. saying that he had uploaded child porn pictures to his Flickr.com account.

Jay David Eklund, 48, faces two felony counts of possession of child pornography after investigators allegedly found a number of pornographic images on his home computer.

According to court documents, authorities were alerted to the alleged pornographic images after the Western Missouri Cyber Crimes Task Force received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children from Yahoo! Inc.

Child Porn Suspect Arrested in Clay County

According to the tip, an unknown party uploaded a number of suspected child porn to their Flickr.com account – Flickr.com is a photo-storage and sharing website owned by Yahoo) last May.

Authorities were able to trace the images, all of children and teens ranging in age from 8 to 18 engaged in sexual activity, to an IP address matching Eklund’s home address.

Eklund is now in custody in the Clay County Jail. Bond has not yet been set. If convicted, Eklund could face up to 30 years in prison.
