A Prince Does The Weather…no not me.
Even Mother Nature is taking a bit of a spa break today, aside from a some cumulus clouds developing there is really no significant weather happening around the KC region today. Highs should max out in the 70-75° and we’ll tack on another 5° tomorrow, with another 5° added to that on Tuesday…eventually we’ll reach the mid-upper 80s by the end of the week with rain chances that continue to look rather low for the next 7 days.
With that said, and as I’ve talked about recently, we are entering the wettest time of the year and for what it’s worth sometimes little disturbances can generate at least the chance of rainfall. My guess is that the atmosphere would be too dry to support much of anything, but for the sake of argument the GFS is spitting out a wave, and has done so for the last couple of days for the end of the week. Here it is…you can clearly see it moving through the middle part of the country on Thursday PM
What this wave MAY do is strengthen the low level jetstream, and since we really won’t be capped, there would be a “chance” of something happening in these parts on FRI AM. At this point I’m not going to stick it into the forecast, but it may show up in the next couple of days.
Basically it looks like anther significant run into the upper 80s for later in the week with slowly climbing humidity levels so that by the weekend it starts feeling a little more on the muggy side, nothing extreme but odds are enough days of a south wind will finally start bringing up at least some gulf moisture.
So when is our next chance of a widespread rain…well at this point it’s not really showing up till early the following week…maybe a week from MON-TUE (the 21st-22nd?) as a cold front moves this way.
Well that’s it for today, one of the blah days on the blog because I’ve really already talked about all this stuff over the past couple of days. However I did find something entertaining…somehow I don’t think we’d see too many big wig politicians in this country do this so props to Prince Charles, for taking a stab at doing the weather on TV! Here you go.
