KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- A father spoke some emotional words after a plane crash left his daughter as the only survivor. Four others died in that crash on May 11th.

Everyone knows this will be a long road to recovery for Hannah Luce. Not just physically but mentally as well. She has burns that cover 28 percent of her body. The National Transportation Safety Board says the eight seat plane was on its way from Riverside, Kansas to Council Bluff, Iowa when the plane lost contact with air traffic control.

It then crashed near Chanute, Kansas. Hannah and one other person, Austin Anderson both survived the initial crash and were able to walk for help. Anderson died on Saturday morning as a result of his injuries.

"I know Austin is the kind of guy serving two terms in Iraq," said Ron Luce, Hannah's father. "He gave his life to our country and friends and would go the extra mile. His parents and family have to be so proud."
