Picture from Mars Captures Endeavour Crater

NASA’s Mars Exploration Rover Opportunity has captured a stunning view of Endeavour Crater — one of many craters on Mars.

The image was taken from the western rim looking east. NASA says the crater is about 14 miles in diameter and that Opportunity has been studying the edge of the crater since arriving in August 2011.

Opportunity’s picture is presented in “false color,” which gives portions of the image an aqua tint. See below.
