Body of Fallen Soldier Returns Home to the Metro

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The body of an Overland Park soldier killed in the line of duty is back in the metro.

An honor guard led plane-side honors for Sgt. Michael Knapp at Kansas City International Airport on Monday morning.

Sgt. Knapp was killed earlier this month in action along the Afghanistan border. He was on his third tour of duty. He left behind a wife and nine-month-old daughter.

There will be a visitation for Sgt. Knapp on Monday night from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Legacy Christian Church at 10150 Antioch Road in Overland Park. A Celebration of Life ceremony will take place at the church on Tuesday morning at 11:00 a.m.
