LAKE OF THE OZARKS — At least seven metro residents were involved in Memorial Day weekend accidents at the Lake of the Ozarks, authorities said.

On Saturday, a Lee’s Summit teen was seriously injured when the inner tube she was riding hit a large wake, throwing her into the air. She is now being treated at Children’s Mercy Hospital, authorities said.

Also on Saturday, a Sea-Doo exploded while a Lee’s Summit man tried to start the engine. Authorities say that Ronald Dodson had just put gas in it when it exploded. The blast also injured an Olathe teen, while another teen from Overland Park managed to escape serious injuries.

On Sunday, authorities say that a Tonganoxie man accidentally bumped a Raytown man off of his Sea-Doo and then drove over him in a boat. The Raytown man’s injuries are listed as moderate.
