KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Construction crews are working long hours on projects at Kauffman Stadium to make improvements for the huge All-Star crowds next week.

Construction started last Friday and it is expected to be complete on Friday, July 6.

Workers have created standing-room-only sections and new risers for the media. They are also creating sets for FOX and ESPN.

With more than 10 million national and international eyes watching the stadium, attention to detail is priority.

"We want everyone to walk away from this going- Wow they really did a heck of a job in Kansas City. We wanna go back," said Mike Swanson, KC Royals' Vice President of Communications.

"You know we've got all the things like the Plaza- We've got the barbeque everyone talks about, but we haven't had the people out here at the ballpark," Swanson said.
