HOUSTON, Tex. -- A romantic day turned out to be terrifying adventure for a Texas couple. Greg Gunnels and his fiancee were watching planes land at the Bush Airport in Houston when something unexpected happened.
"He yelled at me, "Get out -- get out of the truck! Get out of the truck!" Gunnels said. "He kept repeating, 'where's the money? Where's the money?"
Marie Bratton says a truck pulled up and two men armed with guns jumped out and proceeded to rob them while they were at the airport which is in an isolated area.
"I was worried about her because she was still in the truck," Gunnels said.
Bratton has trouble walking and Gunnels says he feared that he was about to lose the love of his life.
"Ah, I didn't want to get shot," Gunnels said. "You know, I mean, when somebody gets out of the vehicle and pulls a gun on you, that's the last thing you -- I mean the first thing you think of is getting shot."
The robbers took their truck, money, wedding rings, driver's licenses and more. The couple says they're glad they still have each other.
The couple says they may have to delay they're wedding. Both must get new I-Ds so they can get their state wedding license.
