Family & Pets Escape Fire in Merriam

MERRIAM, Kan. — Investigators are trying to figure out what sparked a fire in Merriam, Kan. on Saturday. The fire started around 1:30 p.m. near 49th & Grandview.

Fire officials say everyone inside the home got out safely. One dog and three lizards were also rescued from the fire. Two cats that were inside at the time of the fire didn’t make it out.
