MARSHALL, Mo. — A small plane lost an engine, broke in half, but miraculously, the pilot was not injured after the Friday morning ordeal just northeast of Marshall.

Saline County Sheriff Wally George provided the photo and was amazed that the pilot walked away from the wreckage.

The pilot took off from the Marshall Airport earlier Friday morning and was trying to land at that airport at about 11:30 a.m. when he lost one engine.
