Fire Damages KCK Recycling Center

KANSAS CITY, Kan. — An early-morning fire damaged the Deffenbaugh Recycling Facility in Kansas City, Kansas, on Wednesday morning.

The two-alarm blaze forced the evacuation of the building in the 2400 block of South 88th Street around 4:15 a.m. and sent smoke floating over nearby I-435. The blaze was finally brought under control about two hours later.

There were no injuries reported in the fire. The cause of the blaze is still under investigation.
