Police Investigate Double Shooting in Kansas City
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Officers were called to 56th Terr. & Norton on Monday afternoon to investigate a shooting. When they arrived, they found two people suffering from gunshot wounds. One person was shot in the head and is listed in serious condition. Another person who was in the car was shot in the neck and is in critical condition.
Shortly after the shooting, police received a tip that the suspect may be in a nearby apartment building. When police approached the apartment, they noticed the shades being drawn. Because of the earlier shooting, police thought weapons may have been involved and a standoff was called.
Officers made phone contact with someone inside the apartment. Shortly after that, four men, one woman and two children came out of the residence.
The adults are being questioned by police. The children were released to a relative.
