KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City Royals left fielder Alex Gordon added to his hardware collection on Tuesday as he won his second consecutive American League Gold Glove award.

Gordon’s 17 assists led all major league left fielders in 2012, and he made just two errors all season long – a .994 fielding percentage.

At the plate, Gordon batted .294 with 14 home runs and 72 RBI’s, to go along with a big league-best 51 doubles. He also had 73 walks.

The last Royals player to win back-to-back Gold Glove awards was Frank White in 1986-87.
