KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Ruskin High School seniors took the field trip of their live on election day as 20 students filled out a ballot for the first time. That action is something 18 year-old Bryce Lalpkin has overly excited about.

"For the last few weeks, I've just been smiling and talking about it, " said Lalpkin. "I'm about to go vote, I'm going to vote!"

Today's trip included 11 polling location stops so that each student had a chance to make a difference.

"I feel very excited that I get to be a part of something very big," said Alexandra Hardy. "This election is very major and I'm glad I can be a part of it this year."

The trip was organized by the school and American Government teacher, Kevin Scharlau. Students had to get a permission slip signed to go on the trip, and they even got pizza for lunch.

"You can see on their faces, it's not something they are trying to say to you but the smiles on their faces is pretty cool," said Scharlau.
