KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- At age 14, Ian Lane of Liberty suffered a stroke that left him partially paralyzed on his right side. Ian's determination has helped him come a long way in the three years since, but his right foot still drags as he walks.

Now, a device called Walkaide is giving him a leg up literally.  It's worn around his right calf, and it works via an electrode which stimulates a nerve to lift the foot.

FOX 4 Medical Reporter Meryl Lin McKean has the report.
