KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- An early morning water main break shut down Truman Road north and south of Jackson Ave. Parts of Jackson are also closed as crews deal with massive amounts of water spilling over the road in every direction.
The main broke around 1 a.m. Wednesday. Kansas City, Mo., police are on scene blocking the roads in both directions with road flares. This is the second water main break in the first two days of 2013 and with temperatures in the teens water is already freezing on parts of the road.
The Kansas City Water Department says both roads will be closed throughout the morning as crews try to stop the water and figure out what caused the break.
