Facebook Reunites Sisters After 72 Years
BOSNIA — If you’re still not hooked on the power of social media, then maybe this story will do it for you: sisters were reunited, thanks to Facebook — 72 years later.
Eighty-eight-year-old Tanija Delica, and Hedija Talic, 82, were separated from each other in 1941 during World War II, the Huffington Post said.
It was then, while fleeing northern Bosnia, 11-year-old Tanija became separated and was taken in by an orphanage.
Fast forward a whole lot of years and Talic’s son began searching for his family roots online. That’s when he found where his mother’s long lost sister was. And she was close — living about 130 miles away.
Their hunt isn’t over yet. The sisters are now searching for other family members, including a brother, who could be in the U.S.
