Police Arrest Robbery Suspect After Brief Standoff

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Police were in a brief standoff Thursday morning with a man some in the neighborhood know as a frequent crook.

Police say the suspect often goes into the gas station near 29th & Van Brunt and is accused of stealing from it frequently.

This time the clerk confronted him, police say. The suspect allegedly raised up his shirt and showed a gun. With that, the clerk backed off and the man left and ran to a nearby house, where police found him.

Police say after about ten minutes, the suspect came out of the house at 28th and Van Brunt and they arrested him without incident.
