Semi Truck Fire Affects Traffic on I-70

BONNER SPRINGS, Kan. — A tractor trailer hauling aluminum cans caught on fire Tuesday morning at about 9:30 a.m. and shut down traffic on the Kansas Turnpike for about an hour.

The Turnpike Dispatcher told FOX 4 that there was no accident and did not know what caused the fire, which affected the eastbound lanes of I-70.

One lane was opened up at about 10:25 a.m.  Firefighters said there were no hazardous materials in the semi.
