BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. -- A man is recovering from a gunshot wound to the leg after two men broke into his home Wednesday night to rob him.
The man and his wife were inside their home in the 400 block of S.W. Keystone Drive at about 9:30 p.m. The couple's four-year-old son was upstairs sleeping when the robbers invaded their home. The men ordered the husband and wife to lie on the floor. They tied them up while they went through the house, apparently looking for drugs and money that they believed were there.
When they left, the husband followed them outside to the porch. One of the men turned and shot him in the leg. The husband was treated at a hospital for a minor gunshot wound to the leg and has been released from the hospital.
While the homeowner told police he doesn't know the men, police do not believe it was a random attack. Police speculate that the robbers may have heard that the man was selling marijuana out of his house-- something police say the victim admitted to when they interviewed him.
The suspects are described as two black men between the ages of 35-50.
