KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- A robbery suspect at the center of a Kansas City, Mo., sting operation led officers on a high-speed chase Wednesday afternoon.
The chase started in Kansas City, Mo. and crossed the state line into Kansas. Officers with the KCMO and KCK police departments said the suspect was driving erratically and was a danger to the public. The chase ended when the suspect's SUV hit a car that was turning into a driveway. The suspect's vehicle then crashed at 51st and Georgia in Kansas City, Kan. Two people were inside the vehicle that was hit. One of them suffered unknown injuries and was taken to an area hospital.
Police said after crashing, the suspect jumped out of his SUV and ran to a home where he attempted to hide in some bushes. Police quickly found and arrested him shortly before 5 p.m. He was taken to the hospital in an ambulance for injuries he sustained in the car crash.
The chase lasted about 25 minutes and reached speeds of about 90 mph.
