‘Modern Family’ cast members stuck in KC elevator
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Three cast members of the TV show “Modern Family” made unexpected news Friday night when a freight elevator they were riding in got stuck at a hotel in Kansas City’s Crown Center.
Julie Bowen, Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Kansas City, Kan., native Eric Stonestreet got stuck while getting ready to appear at the Kids Night Out event held by the Greater Kansas City Boys & Girls Club.
Ferguson tweeted a photo and said, “this is us right now. 45 minutes and counting.”
Bowen sent a tweet using Twitter’s new short video service, “Vine,” with everyone in the elevator chanting “Get us out!”
The trio was in the elevator for about 50 minutes before being rescued by firefighters.
“At least the firemen in K.C. are cute,” Ferguson later tweeted.
Absent from the group’s photo was Ty Burrell, who was also expected to be at Friday night’s event.
“I honestly handled being stuck in an elevator for 50min better than I thought. All @jessetyler did was pass wind,” Stonestreet tweeted.
The crowd who was waiting for them inside the hall at the Kansas City Sheraton was told of the mishap and had to wait a little more than an hour before the special guests arrived.
No one was hurt in the incident, except for maybe a few bad jokes.
