Sporting KC wins season opener 3-1 against Philadelphia Union

PHILADELPHIA — The first game at the start of a very long season for Sporting Kansas City turned out well, as Sporting KC won its season opener against the Philadelphia Union 3-1.

Sporting got goals from Graham Zusi in the 41st minute, Oriol Rosell in the 66th minute and Claudio Bieler in the 83rd minute. Zusi assisted on both goals that he didn’t score.

Sporting is now 1-0 on the season and will next play next Saturday at Toronto FC.
