1 dead, 1 hurt in early morning KC shooting

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Police say one person is dead and another hurt after an early morning shooting Sunday in Kansas City, Mo.

Officers were called to the 2600 block of Monroe around 3 a.m. for a report of gunshots. When they arrived they found a man in his 20s in the street. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Around 3:15 a.m., a second shooting victim, also a man believed to be in his 20s, arrived at a metro hospital. He remains in serious, but stable condition.

No names have been released in the incident.

Police said they are unsure of what led up to the shootings. Anyone with information is asked to call the TIPS hotline at 816-474-TIPS.
