Calif. couple busted in Platte County for possession of 13 pounds of cocaine

Marcos V. Gonzalez and Lorena Bustos, arrested for possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute.

PLATTE COUNTY, Mo. — Platte County Sheriff’s deputies seized 13.30 pounds of suspected cocaine during a traffic stop on March 16.

Deputies stopped a van south of I-29 at I-435 east for traffic violations. During a search of the vehicle, officers found what they believed to be cocaine in duffel bags in the back of the truck. The estimated value of the suspected cocaine was approximately $595,000.

Marcos V. Gonzalez, 36, and Lorena Bustos, 38, both from California, were arrested for possession of narcotics with intent to distribute.
