Spring Cleaning: Women reveal their dirty little secrets
Spring cleaning. Some hate it. Some look forward to it. Regardless, getting the ol’ mop and broom out must happen unless you want to end up on an episode of Hoarders.
To make you feel better (or worse), Better Homes and Garden magazine has uncovered some dirty little secrets women have when it comes to cleaning.
Apparently, 43 percent of us have pulled something out of the dirty laundry to wear again because actually doing a load of laundry is just … ugh.
Most hated chores
According to BHG’s survey of 3,000 women, some of the most hated chores (besides laundry) include: scrubbing grout, cleaning window blinds, washing exterior windows, cleaning the shower/tub.
Other dirty little secrets:
-39 percent let dust bunnies mate and multiply like bunnies tend to do
-34 percent have missed paying bill because our organizational skills are nothing to brag about
-32 percent of us have trashed items belonging to a family member because we got tired of it laying out for sooooo long
BGH says there are “cleaning personalities.” Some find it therapeutic and are thereby dubbed as such. Others simply dream about cleaning, but rarely take the time to get their hands dirty. They’re called the Dreamers. Fifteen percent are “Last Minute” cleaners who frantically clean house until the doorbell rings and their guests arrive. Fortunately, only 11 percent are “White Glove Inspectors” who insist on a spick and span, sparkling home. That should relieve some of the pressure, right?
