INDEPENDENCE, Mo. -- Several Independence firefighters returned to the Kansas City area after helping honor fallen colleagues in Texas; the first responders who died in the explosion in West, Texas.

The four honor guard members from Independence Fire Department, Station #1, just returned Friday night after participating in Thursday's special memorial service in Waco, Texas.

As FOX 4's Charly Arnolt reports, it's an experience they called life-changing.
