Kids found safe after morning car-jacking

KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- Two children are safe after the SUV they were in was car jacked Monday morning at Snack Pack gas station near 18th and Parallel in Kansas City, Kan.

Emmett Lockridge with Kansas City, Kan., police said the children -- ages nine and two -- were waiting in the SUV while their mother went inside to pay for gas. When the mother came out, she saw another woman driving off with her vehicle.

Police found the children a short time later near 12th and Troup in Kansas City, Kan. They were not harmed.

Police located the vehicle near Cleaver II and Leeds in Kansas City, Mo. No word on any arrests.
