KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Sometimes all it takes is an idea and a tweet to make an idea reality. And you can help by wearing your “Sunday best” to Kauffman Stadium on Sunday.

Bob Kendrick, President of the Negro Baseball Leagues Baseball Museum, said a Twitter follower sent him an idea about a ‘Dressed to the Nines’ day at the K. The premise is to return to the monarch days when everyone went all out for the games.

Inside the museum, there are numerous photos of fans in the grandstands and they were all dressed up.

“This was the era of dress, so no matter where you went you went looking good you went represented at that time, certainly for negro leagues games,” Kendrick said.

While Kendrick is behind the effort, he said he isn’t taking credit for it. That goes to Kansas City resident Brett Parker.

The Royals haven’t officially gotten on board, but welcome anyone who wants to dress to impress.
