IKEA firms up plans for new KC location

MERRIAM, Kan. — IKEA firms up plans for its new Kansas City location. The company chose JE Dunn to head up the project in Merriam.

The photo is a drawing of what the store is expected to look like. The company is awaiting on several final approvals for the new store.

IKEA hopes to break ground on the project in a couple of months and open the store in fall 2014.

It will be located off I-35 and Johnson Drive.
