Burglary suspect, late for court, runs off, now faces more trouble

KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- A twenty-year old burglary suspect who took off from the courthouse Wednesday morning in Kansas City, Kansas is now awaiting more charges.

After the judge ordered him to be taken into custody for showing up 30 minutes late for a hearing, he ran away.

He ran from 8th and Barnett to 8th and Tauromee.

Police and deputies arrested him a couple of blocks away, near his home. One officer had some minor scrapes and cuts while trying to apprehend him.

The man was scheduled for a hearing on burglary charges and had been out on bond. He is now in custody facing additional charges and an increase in his bond.
