PRAIRIE VILLAGE, Kan. -- Heavy rainfall is beginning to cause problems across the metro. Rivers and streams are surging and, in some cases, rain water is spilling into homes.

"Today alone we've probably gotten over a hundred calls," said Josh Bultmann with Dry Basement Inc.

In this video, he was repairing a basement of a woman who had already tried a different basement treatment first.

Bultmann also says homeowners who depend on a sump pump for basement drainage are living on borrowed time. When heavy rain comes this quickly, he says small machines can't cover every problem.

"A sump pump is underneath the floor. A leaking crack is on the wall. A leaking crack is going to run down the wall and onto the floor. A sump pump won't solve that problem," Bultmann said.
