KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City, Mo., police are looking for lots of hot wheels recently from outside peoples’ homes.

In the last week, thieves took more than a dozen scooters, motorcycles and mopeds from areas in Midtown and the Volker neighborhood near Southwest Trafficway.

Ryan Hood said Monday evening someone stole his customized scooter that was parked on the side of his home on South Jefferson in Midtown.

“They’re expensive. Mine was $1,500 and it’s $1,500 I don’t have to replace it again,” Hood said. “I customized mine and done a lot of work on it. I take care of it and to have it just gone is no fun at all.”

Anyone with information about the scooter thefts should call the TIPS hotline at 816-474-TIPS.
